Sorry in advance for the posts but I am at my wits end with these credit files (recently discharged). I have a couple of questions:
My creditors are all still sitting with the full amounts? Should these be at ยฃ0?
When I write to these companies - do I send a photocopy of the discharge form?
My CheckMyFile is showing 2 insolvency records. The first line states:
'Scotland - IVA/TD - Active' Reported to Call Credit/Equifax
Second line
'Unknown - Misc - Discharged' Reported to Experian
Now I'm in a panic that I have 2 of these on my file. Or is this normal as normal can be in this situation.
Hi Almostthere.
Balances should be set to zero after your discharge.
Providing proof of discharge might help. However discharge is a matter of public record so if your prefer to deal with this by phone you could direct people to the Register of Insolvencies.
I don't think there's any need for panic. It looks like one record of starting a trust deed and another of being discharged doesn't it? What's the date attached to each event?
Thanks TDA - both are the same date. I am so glad I looked at my credit rating as I have someone who seem to be financially attached that I have never heard of before. I have made the agency aware.
Ok - that helps. They still all have balances next to them, so I will see if I can get these cleared. Thanks again
I note that a Trust Deed stays on your credit file for 6 years. I have just been discharged from my 3 year long Trust Deed and wondered if you could confirm whether my Trust Deed will show for a further 3 years (6 years in total from when the Trust Deed began) or whether it will stay on file for a further 6 years from the date of discharge?
Welcome to the forum Susiek86.
Anything that's added to your credit file stays there for six years.
This includes an entry recording you entering a trust deed.
Therefore this entry will be off your credit file in around three years from now.
Congratulations on completing your trust deed by the way.
