I was discharged from my trust deed in March 2010. How long do I have to wait until my credit file has been updated to show all of my previous debts as satisfied? Is there anything I should be doing to speed up the process? My credit rating is still very poor.

Thanks

Welcome to the trust deed forum treehugger.

Each creditor of yours needs to update each debt, it's not something that a trust deed firm can and will handle.

They dont necessarily have to mark each debt as fully satisfied, but they often will if you chase them up.

There's an article on this precise subject added to the site this week if you click through to our "trust deed news" section from the main menu that I hope will be helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

So I need to write to each creditor individually and tell them my trust deed has come to an end? Should I enclose a copy of the discharge letter?

I clicked on the link you told me about. Can you tell me which article it is please.

Ta!

Hi.

It's the first one, "default notices and your trust deed".

Contacting each creditor that hasn't updated your credit record may well be helpful.
