Hi guys, just a bit of advice, I was discharged in sept 2013, ip still in office dealing with 1ppi claim. When can I start to try and repair credit file as they all still say default. Can I start now or do I have to wait till there dividend has been paid and trustee has discharged himself.

Thanks
Bravator

You can start now Bravator.

Your credit file should reflect the reality that you have been discharged from the trust deed, that you're therefore no longer responsible for the debts (zero balances), and that default notices should be marked as being satisfied (or at least partially satisfied).

Hi Bravator,

The earlier you start trying to rebuild your credit rating the better.

As TDA has advised, as you have been discharged then you are now debt free and no longer responsible for the debts.

From what I've picked up from other forum users who have tried to repair and rebuild their credit rating it can be a little difficult and time consuming trying to get the creditors to update the credit file with the current position. There has been a lot of useful posts by people recently on the subject which will give you an idea of where to start.
