we have been finished our trust deed now for over a year and i got contacted by company with a letter headed life after the trust deed, offering to help us up the credit ladded, they advised that although we have cleared our debt through the trust deed the like of credit experian would still hold our outstanding debt balances
This ompany had offered to check this whilst checking for any PPI that we ma be owed for a fee of 25%
question i really want amswered is : will all these bad debt balances still be on our credit file even though we are 1 year passed our closing date
thanks in advance for any advice Ali

Welcome to the forum ali.

One of the things that I love about this forum is that we tend to hear about what is going on "out there" quite quickly. I don't think I'd heard about this before.

This sounds like PPI claims with a bit of a bonus thrown in!

I strongly advise you not to use a commercial firm to handle a PPI claim (unless this firm has been instructed by your trustee, which it doesn't sound like they have been). The risk is that you end up with a big bill for a "victorious" claim but no money to pay for it.

You can make claims yourself if you wish, and refer to the Financial Ombudsman if you disagree with your banks verdict. That's all easy and free.

This company cannot erase legitimate and accurate credit reporting.

This company cannot know what's on your credit file without getting your permission to look on there.

If you have been discharged your balances should now be set to zero and any default notices should be marked as being "satisfied" or "partially satisfied".

You can check this yourself very easily by signing up for one of the free trials that the credit reference agencies offer. There's one that we like at the following link:

thankyou so much, i thought it may be a bit of a scam was not sure the company were Tyler Morgan Claims Ltd, and they enclosed a letter with what they called "an after your trust deed news letter " which lists numerous things that we should do and one was to correct our credit file, Compensation Claims, Claims after the trust deed, and the rest of the News letter was pretty much aimed at claiming PPI!
Also enclosed is a form for me to send to Eqifax to get a credit report to then forward to them, after returning this to them they would apply for PPI refunds and they would do all the paperwork etc and that they would only take payment off 25% if we got a pay out.
I have no idea if PPI was applied for duing our trust deed, for our loan/creditcards, but both me and my husband dont think it was, as it was a joint trust deed we had, and he was never mentioned in it at all.
Is there a way that we can find out if PPI was claimied during out Trust Deed at all. thanks again for your help it is ver much appreciate Ali

I think you'd know ali as you would have been asked to sign consent forms normally.

Perhaps you could give your ex trustee a quick call to check? Over a year ago there were fewer trust deed firms integrating PPI claims into the process.

We never had any forms sent to be signed other than what we signed for entering the trust deed, and its been finished since a year past december.
Would we actually get any PPI back from our loan/Creditcards, or is that a bit cheeky considering we went to a trust deed with them! thanks again Ali

Only you can decide whether it's cheeky!

We have heard from some people that have got money back.

We have heard from some people that have faced really strong creditor objections to paying any money back even if they admit that mis-selling took place.

We also know of one creditor that will pay back any interest that is due on PPI premiums paid but will not pay back the premiums themselves.

So... it's a bit of a mixed bag really!

Hi ali.

It's a case of contacting each lender and asking them to update your credit file.

If they don't do it in a reasonable period of time you can then lodge a complaint with them.
