Hi all,
Has anyone else had problems recently getting through to their trustee at trust deed Scotland. They are changing their name from Kelsom Associates to Knightsbridge insolvency. When I call on the usual number I get diverted to a call centre in England who explain that they are taking calls for TDS while they are in transit between changing.
This has been going on for a month now whenever I call. This call centre in England claim that they can't help me as they can only access the English equivilant of trust deeds on their system. When I call the TDS general enquiries line they refer to call thus number.
I've emailed my trustee and get an out of office reply.
Short of posting a letter I don't know what to do?
Any help or phone numbers would be appreciated. Thanks.
I'm afraid I don't know much about this changeover or how to work around the issues that you're having shark01.
Hopefully another forum member might be able to help you.
The firm concerned are also perfectly welcome to post on here about how they'd suggest people get in touch with an appropriate contact point at the moment.
Just thinking about it shark01, I suspect you're trying to contact them in respect of your other forum thread today?
If so, putting everything in writing to them about the changes to your circumstances now could help to protect your position in the future. You've done what you can then.
Hi,
Yes I'm trying to get in touch to update my address and advise of my new income and expenditure, I'm afraid of compromising my trust deed and getting in trouble potentially for not keeping them up to date.
That's what lead me to this forum actually - trying to find conact details. Glad I did now as there's been some really useful threads on here and it's refreshing to know that there are so many other people in a similar position as me. You guys have been very helpful and efficient when responsing also so thanks again!
I am with Knightsbridge and was set up through TDS. Irecently had a change of circumstance and an increase in disposable income. I had an amount in my mind that I would have to pay. I sent in an updated Income and expenditure form along with my last six months bank statements to back this up. To my surprise the amount I had to pay did indeed increase but only by about half of what I was expecting. Result is I have a little more cash to help get through the month. Good luck
That's good to know, I now have an extra £150pm to live off that I didn't have when I singed the trust deed. It's good to know that not every penny is a prisoner and that I don't have to forfeit every extra pound that I manage to save - we'll see what they say though.
Out of interest how much did they increase your payment to and what did you expect it to go to?
I appreciate that that's private and you might not want to answer here.
Best.
From £255 to £310. I was expecting £366.Keep at them as it took a few goes to get sorted to be fair. I think communication is the key. I think having the bank statements to back up the spending is obviously a help. I also think my original income/expenditure form was maybe a wee bit tight too.
That's good to know that you didn't have to surrender to whole surplus.
Can I ask what number and email address you've been using to contact Knightsbridge, i've had a bit of trouble contacting the of recent.
Their calls are diverted to the Manchester office due to the change from Kelsom, who can only help me with English trust deeds. They say that they are going to pass my details onto Knightsbridge but I'm not confident that have.,
Also when I email my trustee I get an out of office auto reply.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
I've only ever dealt with Manchester to be honest. My trustee is based there.
Hi there, I'm also with Knightsbridge via Kelsom. Thing to remember (I think !) is that Trust Deed Scotland and Kelsom are the referrers to Knightsbridge. Kelsom do the upfront set up stuff and pass you on to Knightsbridge, who your trustee works for/with. So once the TD is set up you would not deal with Kelsom again. That's my experience anyway.
Hi Redguard,
Thanks for your reply, that's put my mind at rest a bit.
My SO still shows as Kelsom associates, so I am assuming that they are the people who are receiving my monthly payments.
They told me when I signed up in December that they are changing names, to knightsbridge. Is it maybe all one company now?
When did you sign your TD if you don't mind me asking?

We had the meeting with Kelsom in Feb 2012 and the TD was protected in April.
