Consumer Credit Licence Query

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of starting a new business and was wondering if i can still apply to the OFT for a consumer credit licence being in a trust deed?

Hello daveLee.

I'm not aware of anything in connection to the issue of a Consumer Credit Licence by the OFT that would be specifically exclude permission being granted due to being in a trust deed.

They will consider all of the factors, referenced in the application form, that they consider to be relevant to your "fitness" to carry out the activities for which you are applying to be licensed.

I do know of individuals that have remained licensed despite having put themselves through similar debt relief procedures and having made the OFT aware of them.
