Hi Guys... Just a quick question as these credit files confuse me. All my defaults apart from 1 are now closed, some say ps and have different dates and have a couple that say default. Do these still show if a credit check is done or are they only visible to myself for my records?
Have managed to get most to comply with dates but others are a nightmare, so if they are closed and cant be seen then I can just forget about them and put all my efforts into the one still open.[:(!]

Hi Bravator,

My understanding is that all default notices will stay on your credit file for six years (from the date of issue) no matter whether they've been marked satisfied, partially satisfied, or haven't been updated at all.

That means that a lender reviewing your credit file will see them until they fall off I'm afraid.

For obvious reasons, default notices marked up as having been dealt with will usually be much less damaging than default notices which remain "open".
