Changed default accounts to settled

Hi all,
I was discharged from my TD in October and I am just in the process of trying to get my defaults marked as settled. As well as having the Noddle account for some time, I also recently registered with CheckMyFile. On both websites I can see my open default accounts (four) and they are fairly straightforward. I can see who they are with , so if I need to I know who to contact.

However, CheckMyFile has two more under the "Closed" section. The issue is though, I can't see who those accounts are with and they don't actually show up on the Noddle site under Closed.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this ? I guess I'm thinking that there's potentially a situation where I will have these four accounts flagged as settled but the other two will sit their as defaulted until 2018, which I presume won't help me clear up my credit file and potentially obtain credit if I wanted to.

Thanks

Hi Redguard,

With the usual warning (none of us are experts about credit files) I've just done a bit of searching around.

There's an article on the Experian website confirming that closed accounts can affect your credit rating. Probably no surprise there.

You're entitled to know what information any company holds about you, so you may now wish to request that CheckMyFile reveals this information to you.

Thanks TDA, worth getting them sorted out then. I have emailed CheckMyFile and will report back anything of interest.

Let us know if they object to providing that detail Redguard.

Hopefully not an issue for you - but there is a way to ensure that you do get it.
