I would suggest you tell them straight away. I know itโs early days. But what Iโve learned is to plan and think ahead. Are you going to be able to still afford the payments? Are you entitled to full maternity pay? What about going back to work? Who will look after the baby? How will you afford this? And lastly....congratulations!
Congratulations to you lilone.
I think nov2018 has made some very sensible suggestions.
Whenever you're ready I'd suggest raising this with your trustee so that you can find out where you stand and how things are likely to develop in the coming months.
thanks NOV2018!
yeah ive done some working out as to what i would need etc, I just dont want any extra time added on to this trust deed ive heard this can happen ?
Probably not full time id return initially but am thinnkin of contacting them once i have my first scan to be sure all ok!
Thanks
Hi lilone.
Your trustee needs to balance your interests with those of your creditors. Often these decisions are a judgment call rather than being a "black and white" scenario.
Once the time is right, speaking with your trustee will let you know where you stand and hopefully put your mind at rest.
Can i ask,
the sooner i let them know what about this when would they review payments?
what about saving for baby things such as cot pram etc ?I don't want to add time to the trust deed and keen to pay what i can.however i need to be realistic ahead of the baby's arrival ?
thanks
Hi lilone.
There's clearly going to be some additional expenditure to cover which will have to be accounted for one way or another.
The only really useful and detailed answer you're going to get here though is directly from your trustee. We could only speculate and your trustee might see it differently.
Hopefully you'll establish that there is a fair way to balance your needs, and the changes that are on the way, with the legitimate interests of your creditors.
