Hi all,

First of all thank you all for your advice on things during my trust deed.

I received my form 5 with discharge date of 10/4 after a month of waiting(no bad I think-thank you Credit Fix)) and noticed on AiB website that Trustee discharged himself 3 days after me. Is this normal or am I just lucky as I thought that it would take about a year for Trustee to discharge?

Also I have changed the address 6 months before my trust deed ended. I will be looking into sending out letters to creditors to update defaults date(some of them have 3 months after my Trust Deed started so rather random dates) however Iโ€™m not sure if they will have my new address or do I have to mention old address for them to easily find my details?

Also I have had a debt added 18 months after trust deed started (my trustee thought it was a loan however it was a hp on a car which I have ended handing back and remaining of the finance has been added to trust deed). They (Barclays Finance) are showing default date as they date car was handed back in. Is this correct or should I ask them to update it to when my trust deed started like everyone else has?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts x

Great news on receiving your discharge.

It would be unusual for the trustee to be discharged so soon after you given the statutory time frames in place unless there has been a significant delay in you receiving your form 5. I would recommend speaking with your trustee to clarify the matter and to give you peace of mind.

In any creditor correspondence, it would be good to give as much info in order for them to locate you including previous addresses.

In terms of Barclays, it would make sense if the default date was the date the car was handed back as this would be the date the lender could no longer rely on their security and in theory the date you stopped payment for the vehicle. There is however no harm in asking them to change the date.

Please keep up updated on this matter. Would be good to know what Barclays position would be.

Sarah is no longer posting in the Trust-Deed.co.uk forum.
