Hi
Currently almost a year into a trust deed. I've been offered a new rental property with a housing association however the rent and council tax is going to be approx £100 more per month than I pay just now. Do you think my trustee will see this as a problem if I cut cost elsewhere in my allowances for clothes/hobbies etc?

Welcome to the forum Ksm2690.

Your trustee will not have a concern if your ability to maintain the agreement isn't affected.

£100 is quite a lot to find from an already restricted budget, especially if there's still three years or more for it to run. Are you sure this will be manageable?

Hi KSM

I would ask for your trustee to review your income and expenditure and provide details of essential expenditure such as gas and electricity.

Please also be aware, you can ask the Council to pay the council tax liability over 12 months rather than 10 to spread payments over a longer period.
