Has anyone in a TD been successful in getting HP or a PCP agreement for a car?
Hi Nemo1.
No update for you on the companies I mentioned yesterday as yet.
There are two companies that are often mentioned in connection to getting car HP during an IVA. We're trying to speak to people there to see if they take the same view about Scottish trust deeds.
I should probably warn you that the terms reflect the fact that the availability of this type of finance is pretty limited at the moment.
Consider leasing?
Leasing?? Sorry I'm a bit clueless!
There are a few companies who say they lease to TD clients. One of them I think was called MG cars. It's pricey though. Google leasing a car whilst in a trust deed. Good luck.
Leasing as opposed to purchasing, long term rental, usually over 2-3 years, there are many companies who will charge varying amounts but it is an option worth looking at.
one bad point is you hand back the car,and you have nothing to show for it and if in same boat/car as me nothing to buy another car with as per trust deed i dont have the ยฃ1000 your allowed to get another, only good point might be you can save up but up to trustee if they want the extra you are saving.
My PCP came to an end at the start of this year. I didnt want to be turned down for credit, so instead of handing the car back and requesting a new deal, i asked if i couldextend my payments to the finance company to pay off the balloon payment over the next 2 years. Dont know if they do a credit check for this or not (since presumable already done one when i initially bought the car) but i was able to do this ok. Monthly payment stayed the same and my trust deed company was ok with me doing this.
I know this wasnt quite the question you asked, sorry!', but thought it worth sharing - hope it helps someone.
thats good you got to extend
