On a lighter note in terms of all thats happening with tribunals etc...just over a year after completing my trust deed ive been accepted for car finance on 1st application with well known car supplier using high st bank finance company!!!...maybe a coincidence but i have noticed that ive started being offered credit from many places including my own bank recently...at same time my name has dissapeared from the Aib site!!...was up front with car supplier about previous trust deed but they said...and i quote..."its easier to get car finance nowadays than it is a mobile phone contract"...and true to their word im now driving a brand new 2016 plate car!!!
did you wait full year before u tried?
I tried a few months after being discharged and got a knock back everywhere...had to use a company in Irvine who lease cars to you and at the end of the lease you pay a fee and the cars yours...ours was ยฃ500, but as you would expect the interest rate isnt high st rates...but got to say they helped me when i needed a car and no one else would, car was good as well:)
Hi littlemo,
That's really positive to hear and thanks for sharing this information. I'm sure it will help other people who are looking at car finance options.
It's always best to be up front and honest with the salesman that way they can tell you realistically if they can secure finance or not. For them they want the sale and will do what they can to secure the finance.
Enjoy the new car and new car smell.

Hi that is very encouraging. Thanks for your post. I desperately need a car to get to work as mine is about to die on me. I wont be able to work if I can t get a new car. Are you able to advise who the car company was as I have been discharged for 2 years, tried to apply for a loan and got rejected.
Thanks [:)]
I bought a 2 year old car in May last year from Arnold Clark, was sequestrated in May 2011. Marsh Finance was who I got the loan from via Arnold Clark
