I am a community nurse 3 years into my Trust Deed. These past three years I have had an NHS lease vehicle with I pay approx £170 out of my salary each month. I am moving to a different NHS trust and the policy on leasing is different and I wont be eligible for another vehicle. Which leaves me in a position of having to get another car - obviously a bit tricky under a trust deed [:D] I have spoke to the company i took my Trust Deed out with who agree I need a vehicle and state they may be able to provide me with a supporting letter, given that I have been already making car payments for the last 3 years. HAs anyone been in a similar situation? I dont know where to start looking in relation to a company that would take me on given my current situation. Any suggestions welcome [:)]
Hi Keepingupwiththejones,
One company that gets mentions here for providing vehicles during trust deeds is Moneybarn. I believe that they do require a letter of consent from the trustee as part of the process.
As you might expect, the interest rates are high and therefore this can be a costly option.
Some visitors to the forum have reported family members taking out vehicle finance on their behalf. They then reimburse their relative on a monthly basis. This could be a cheaper option but you'd need to be careful that the arrangement with the relative doesn't breach the finance agreement's terms.
@tda-debt-adviser yes this sounds very similar to something called an accomodation sale -
