Our car has just about given up the ghost !!! Needing major repair job (gear box according to hubby) The ironic thing is our final TD payment is the end of the month & it's to pay off the equity in the car which is frustrating to say the least !!!

Has anyone had any success in getting HP car soon after discharge, hoping we will be discharged fairly soon in the new year ?? Any thoughts/experience welcome.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that boys1211 cars are great when going bugger and expensive when not, mines was costing more than it's worth to repair the last lot of problems with it.

This thread is about car finance.

Hi boys1211.

Subject to affordability there are finance arrangements out there and I think that, on average, they'd be less expensive once a trust deed has been completed and discharged.

That's not to say that the rates might not seem quite high though in comparison to the deals available where people have clean credit records.

There's probably little harm in applying for mainstream car finance from one or two sources just on the off chance that you get approved.

Whats the deal with the cars?

Is it greater than £3K at the start, the end or either depending on what was agreed

If you think there is less than 3K in it now, why not let the Trustee try to shift it?

Hi pingpong.

This is one of those issues where we hear various things so I think it probably comes down to what was agreed at the start of the trust deed.

Hi pingpong

As we signed our TD prior to the changes making it anything over 3k is to be released, we unfortunately have to pay anything over 1k !!! But I spoke to our IP this morning and she said to get a quote for any repairs & if they come to over the £500 we are due to pay she "will look into it".....so who knows !! It really is on its last legs I think.
