Can your TD find out if you are making a compensation claim? TD due to finish in a few months and might not get settlement till middle of next year.

Hi Meggypeg and welcome.
Anyone in a trust deed has a clear obligation to notify their trustee in the event that they've become entitled to a lump sum.
Of course, it may not be clear that a lump sum is actually due unless the claim has been won (which could take some time).
