hi,we are currently in a ptd which includes our car,unfortunatley my wife was involved in a crash through no fault of her own and there is a good chance the car could be written off. What would happen in this case if the insurance send us a cheque can we use it for another car or would we need to pay it to trustee? thanks

If there is a genuine need for the vehicle I'd be surprised if the Trustee did not allow a purchase of a replacement vehicle.
This is a subject you should address directly with the Trustee so that you know exactly where you stand.
