i was discharged from a trust deed in Feb 2013. Since then i have been working on improving my credit rating. I am having problems with capital one and would like your advice. I faxed them a copy of the discharge in september and was told it can take up 2 months for my credit report to be updated. In december i phoned them again as my report had not been updated, i was asked again to fax discharge and they would update my report on the last working day in december. Report was not updated so i phoned them again and they said they would not update report until they have received payment from my trustee (rsm tenon). All my other creditors have updated my report to "satisfied". Is this correct what capital one have told me.

Hi duncanhmmitchell.

You might find this article useful:

I don't think that the position Capital One have communicated to you would stand up with the Information Commissioner if you pushed the matter.

Thanks TDA.

Capital One are being unprofessional in this matter.

The first 2 faxes i sent them have apparently being misplaced and when i phoned today, i got the we are not updating it until we are paid response.

I will phone them again tomorrow with the details on the link that you provided.
