Hi forum

How long after request should it take for a debt included in completed trust deed to be removed from credit file? I have emailed and phoned and they wonโ€™t give a time scale.

Hi Nemo1.

Apologies for a slow reply.

It might be that they only update the credit reference agencies every month or so. If it were me I think I'd give them a month or so and then make a formal complaint.

It's their obligation to not report incorrect information to the credit reference agencies. If they continue to do so, knowingly, that seems like a significant data protection issue.

Hi Nemo1,

Have you completed your Trust Deed and received your discharge?

If you have and you have notified the lender of this then they should update your file pretty quickly. I think the reports work in monthly update cycles so could take 1-2 months.

If you have called and emailed and are getting nowhere maybe time to ask about their complaints procedure as TDA has suggested. This could prompt them into focusing on the issue.
