I'm just wondering if anyone else has a Cash Card account with Barclays and has been upgraded to a full current account?

I've been in my trust deed since 2013 and only have 10 months to go. Can't actually believe how fast the past two years have gone!

When I opened the Cash Card account I was totally honest with them and said that I was starting a trust deed. Anyway I got a letter in the post recently telling me that they're upgrading my Cash Cash account. I thought I'd have to wait a good few years before being able to get a normal current account again. It came as a really nice surprise and a nice reminder that my credit won't always be messed up. [:D]

I have one of these accounts since day 1 and again they were aware of my TD. Now discharged 5 months but still no letter to upgrade. They did say I would need to go into a Branch to ask when I called telephone banking but since nearest branch is 20 miles away now I cannot be bothered. May now look at changing bank.

I received the letter a few weeks back as well. Like you I was upfront about my trust deed when I opened my bank account and, touch wood, have had superb service ever since. Unlike the Natwest who, despite NOT being a creditor, froze my basic cash account and then demanded that I close it when my trust deed became protected. Took a few months to get an apology and recompense from Natwest, who eventually admitted the actions they took were wrong.

I got the same letter a few weeks back saying on the 16th October or just after it would automatically upgrade. I checked my online banking and I now have a current account again. I've been in my trust deed since sept 2013 so it was a pleasant surprise getting the letter.

For anyone reading this and thinking about where to open a new bank account when starting a trust deed, the Barclays Cash Card account has consistently received positive feedback here for years.
