Just wondering it will be over a year now into our Bankruptcy , iam wondering am i techinaly discharged from being bankrupt now even though i still have 2 years to go or am i talking mumbo jumbo[?] as i have this stuck in my head
You would get your personal discharge from bankruptcy after one year. If you have an IPA in place, you would keep paying that for the full three years.
You can checkon the Register of Insolvencies to be sure that your personal discharge has been recorded. It's on www.aib.gov.uk - click the link to Register of Insolvencies.
Hi graham.
As Candlewick says its not mumbo jumbo! You should be discharged and the associated restrictions of bankruptcy should be lifted.
The three years of payment (if you are expected to pay at all) will carry on.
If you want a Certificate of Discharge you can contact the AIB on 0300 200 2600 and quote your AIB Ref 2011/****, there usually is a fee between ยฃ10-14.
