Hi there
I was discharged from my trust deed in February this year and received my form 5 having made my final contribution in Decembers last year but I received an email today saying I had missed a payment from April this year? Any ideas what this is or is it most likely an error?

They said

We have recently written to you advising that your Trust Deed contribution has been missed from 24/04/2017.

Please contact our team on 0800 158 3539 urgently to discuss this outstanding payment.

Your Trust Deed is currently in arrears and needs to be brought up to date as soon as possible, if you are experiencing difficulties in making this payment we can help resolve any issues with you.

If now is not a good time to talk, please reply to this email with your preferred telephone number and a convenient time slot for us to call you.

If you have already made arrangements to pay please disregard this email.

Hi lp24,

If you have completed your Trust Deed and received your Form 5 then this sounds to me like a letter sent out in error.

I'd give your Trustee a call and ask them.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks David

Hopefully you're right as can't understand it otherwise.

Will give them a call tomorrow

Funny thing is I've not even received the letter they are referring to.

Will let you know how I get on.

Hi lp24,

Occasionally we send a current status report (income and expenditure review form) to a client who has been discharged. It's an automated letter our system sends out. We get a panicked phone call from a client about this but we reassure them. I'm sure it's something like this and a quick call tomorrow will clarify.

How did you find the whole Trust Deed process? Well done on successfully completing this and receiving your discharge btw. .

Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Thanks David

All in all pretty straight forward. Made all my payments on time, asked 6 months before the end if I could pay a little extra each month to pay the ยฃ500 property abandonment fee which Knightsbridge agreed to (instead of adding 2 months to end of my trust deed) hounded them for my discharge as soon as I made final payment and got it 9 weeks later. Got on to creditors right away to correct default dates etc and mark them as satisfied so it's all been pretty smooth. Fingers crossed hopefully it's an error and they're not looking for more money from me!
