Hi,

I completed my trust deed last year (final payment Oct 11) however my bank (santander) who I have a basic current account with (cash card only) will still not approve me for a debit card. I attempted to contact Experian to request a credit file and make sure everything was closed off however in order to pay for the credit file I need to provide debit card details.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the trust deed forum anon1401.

Would you consider moving to another bank? There are plenty of banks that are happy to let people have debit cards during a trust deed, let alone afterwards.

Hi, yes I would move to another bank.

I noticed that you have recommended Natwest in previous posts however, of my creditors during my trust deed was RBS - would this affect a new application with Natwest?

Hi anon1401.

I'm not sure the Natwest suggestion was from me.

Here's some information about bank accounts during trust deeds:

Nationwide do something called cash card+ which comes with a debit card feature. Even with my horrible credit rating I was accepted for it.
