Hi everyone, I've been reading the forum posts for a while and I must say it has been a great help in getting me through the past few years. Most of the questions I've had have been answered already but having recently made my last payment I wondered if any has any experience with Apex in getting their discharge. My last payment was at the beginning of December, and I have advised that discharge is the next step, I haven't heard anything else since but. How long should the step take?

Welcome to the forum Overspent.

It needn't take long once you've completed your obligations.

The precise amount of time will vary from firm to firm and from case to case.

I'd call your contact there and ask them when they expect it to be done.

Hi Overspent,

Well done on reaching this point and successfully completing your Trust Deed.

Have you made sure that you have cancelled your standing order?

As TDA has advised the discharge process can vary from firm to firm. Your discharge i.e. your Form 5 should following shortly. Once you receive this then you are completely free from the Trust Deed and debt free.

Give your relationship manager a call and ask them when you can expect to receive your Form 5 discharge. Keep on top of them so that you receive it sooner rather than later.

Overall how have you found the Trust Deed process Overspent?

Hi TDA/David. Thanks for your responses. I was initially told 4-6 weeks but with Xmas in they way I'd imagine that it might take a bit longer. I don't read about many people having problems with Apex so I just wondered if anyone could share their discharge experience for Peice of mind. I'll give them a call next week if I haven't heard anything.

Hi David, yes I cancelled my standing order and took a great deal of pleasure in doing so. The TD process for me has been ok, and was the ideal solution to my problems despite what my partner thinks. The only thing I would like to have seen better would be the end process. It would be good to make the last payment and be done there and then. 3 years should be enough time to sort out the other stuff. I do feel for the people who believe they have been mid-sold if that's the right phrase. I know how it easy it could have been to make a wrong decision. I was lucky in a sense as I only found this forum after I had signed. Turned out I was with one of the better companies though. You guys are great help so thanks for being there.

Hi Overspent,

I'm also with Apex after they took over from RSM and I'm almost at the same stage as well. I've never had any problems with them, and don't recall reading any either. I'm sure like me you will be looking forward to getting 'that' letter through the door soon.
