Just in case anyone is interested, or is in a similar situation to myself...

Spoke with David at Wylie Bisset last Monday (apologies it's taken me so long to write this, but everyone is off on holidays so my work is a bit mental at the min!) who was very helpful and not at all judgemental. I was talked through all my options and as I have a steady income but no assets and am not a homeowner a Trust Deed is almost certainly the best option for me.

I signed the initial paperwork during the meeting and went through an income/expenditure. Thankfully David has set it up in such a way that I will have enough each month to live off and be safe in the knowledge that I wont be living off supernoodles for the next 4 years. Nor will I have to grow my hair into dreadlocks as a means to avoid paying for haircuts and shampoo. It wont be a lavish lifestyle by any means, but I'm not nervous about struggling to reach the next payday. It's much easier to budget when the targets are realistic: when you know you're going to fail before you even start it's easy not to even try.

The next round of paperwork came through at the weekend and I returned it yesterday. So I guess now I'm just waiting for it all to get approved/protected etc.

Not paying my credit cards this month feels very weird though, as I've never defaulted before (especially not deliberately!), so I'm stressing slightly as I wait for inevitable deluge of letters...but that's what my recycling bin is for yeah?

It's great to hear that you're making so much progress LouiseG. Well done on the steps you've taken to address the situation so far.

Regarding the letters, I'd suggest that you continue to monitor the content of them and let your trustee know if anything you read (or hear by telephone) is causing you undue concern.

Hi LouiseG,

Thanks for the positive feedback and for coming back onto the forum to share an update about your situatuon.

That recycling bin might fill up pretty quick with the letters. If your worried about anything in terms of the content of the letters or you receive any phone calls just give me a call and i can reassure you and deal with them.

Hopefully now a couple of weeks have passed since we met you are feeling a lot better about things.

I'll keep you up to date with the progress of things.
