That's clear cause for concern equity but skint.

If they are trading unlicensed, and you feel that you have been treated unfairly by them, there seems to be a very strong complaint that could be raised with the powers that be.

TDA,

It's the devious way they got about things that raised the alarm for me, also the fact that I signed papers on the understanding that I was signing for income and expenditure figures and later have the company on the phone chasing money because they said I had signed to say I'd pay their account in 2 instalments. No wonder they didn't push me for the money!

I'd like to make a formal complaint because the next person they dupe might not be so lucky (or well informed via this site)

Hi equity but skint,

If you wish to complain the Office of Fair Trading or your local Trading Standards department could be the best contact points.

I'd suggest that you call one of them to discuss the scenario that you describe and your obvious concerns about licensing.
