Hi Silly.

You can pay your insurance in monthly instalments. There's no restriction on that.

Are you paying fuel bills quarterly rather than on a monthly payment?

Hi TDA

I searched for quotes for insurance to try to get the best deal and have had companies refuse monthly installment option unfortunately. I pay fuel bills quarterly, I always have done and dont think now is the time to set up yet another monthly direct debit as that would just make things impossible every month as opposed to impossible every quarter. Monthly fuel payments would be too expensive in comparison to monthly insurance payments and both together, if it were possible, would just not be do-able.

Hi silly.

I think plenty of our members have been able to pay their car insurance monthly. It might be helpful if some could share the names of insurance firms that have done this for them.

Can I ask please, is the amount of your monthly fuel cost higher than the allowance made for your monthly fuel cost when your trust deed was set up?

Hi silly. I’m finishing my TD next month(it’s been a long 4 years I can tell you). Since signing back in 2013 I have never had a problem to get Car Insurance. Elephant and Esure were the cheapest from all of them and they definitely let you pay monthly. Same with E.On or Scottish Power to pay DD for gas, elec and boiler cover. Hope this helps.

Hi, just to clarify its house insurance I am searching for and have been refused monthly instalments. Whether the fuel bills are within the allowance or not, whilst I think they will be, I will check

Hi Silly,

It can be difficult for someone people to adjust to the first 6 months of entering into a plan to deal with their debts. The feedback I receive is the hardest change is working to a budget whereas before a lot of people could rely on credit facilities.

To discuss specifics regarding your case it’s probably best that you give me a call and we can have a chat about things. Alternatively I’m happy to make an appointment for you to come in and sit down with me in the office and we can review your budget and try to help with some advice.

Hi David, thanks for your comments and offer of support. For the moment I will try to struggle along with the knowledge if I need to speak with you I can, thanks. Budgeting is certainly difficult however the most difficult part for me is not being in control of your own life anymore. Anyway thought it might be useful for those on here to know there are some insurance companies out there who refuse to insure when you are insolvent, regardless of payment method. Eventually got house insured albeit it wasnt the least expensive option.
