Hello, I am looking for some advice, we entered our trust deed on Feb 2010 and were discharged Jan 2013. We are looking to move house and get a new mortgage, will the trust deed have any effect on this.

Is the 6 year timeframe taken from the start of the trust deed or the discharge date?

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum Lb300583.

Any thing that arrives on your credit report will usually leave six years later. Your trust deed should have gone in February 2016.

There are lenders who will have restrictive criteria about their products and ask questions in their application form to ascertain whether you meet them or not.

So, if a lender asks about previous trust deeds or insolvencies, it might affect their decision about whether to lend to you or not.

It's helpful that you're several years discharged. There will likely be more options open to you.

Best to approach a mortgage broker, be totally open with them, and be guided towards lenders for whom this history is less of an issue.

Good luck to you.

Should have added...

We've heard from lots of members who have got decent mortgages much sooner after discharge than you currently are.
