Hi, I made the final payment to my trust deed in June last year. After I'd made my last payment Creditfix decided to do a PPI check which I now see is the norm. As a few of my creditors hadn't acknowledged my trust deed I struggled to get them to do a PPI check whilst they thought I still owed them funds. In April all but 1 had agreed I had no PPI. The outstanding claim is against my mortgage and is now sitting with the ombudsman. I have asked Creditfix several times when I will be discharged but still nothing. Any advice on how I can try to speed this up? The euphoria I felt this time last year has worn off and now extremely frustrated with not getting it closed

Hi Linda Mac.

There are no set schedules for discharge, so persistence and encouragement are probably your best bet here.

Is it the case that you have not been discharged, and neither has your trustee? Or have you been discharged but your trustee has not yet been?

Usually a trustee can discharge you and carry on with any PPI work before they seek their own discharge.

Hi Linda Mac,

Congratulations on successfully completing your Trust Deed.

Itโ€™s good to hear that your Trustee will process your Form 5 today and you will receive your official discharge.

Glad your happiness has returned and in time for the weekend.

All the best for the future and enjoy being debt free.

Hi thank you both. However my saga continues...
Creditfix have emailed me a form 5 but have not sent it to AiB and are saying they won't until my creditors discharge. Does this make the form they emailed me invalid or will AiB backdate to the date of the form I have when they do receive it? Reading other threads it looked like this was an electronic process so I don't understand how they can issue me with the Form 5 if they are not sending to AiB. I am getting so confused with it all.

This does sound a bit confusing Linda Mac.

Your discharge will not be official until that Form 5 is processed on the AIB's Register of Insolvencies.

I don't believe that will be backdated, I think the date is simply the date that the Form 5 is processed.

I'd suggest seeking some clarification from your trustee as this sounds a bit unusual.

I have tried calling again this morning but they can't put direct calls through to their closures team in Mauritius. They are now saying the delay is due to a missing form 4 which is an internal form and there is nothing I can do to speed this up. So frustrating. Will await the call from their closure team but not holding out much hope as they have never returned any of my calls
