Account still open?

Hi all.
My Trust Deed was finalised over 18 months ago and I received my letter of discharge. All my creditors were paid their pence in the pound and I assumed that was that.
I have recently done a PPI claim for several of the loans that I had defaulted on and one company so far has upheld my complaint. In their offer letter though they state that my loan account with them is still open and as such some of the cash I have been awarded will be used to "put my account in the position it would be in if I had not been sold PPI"
My question for the experts on here is this then, once a Trust Deed is completed are the accounts involved in the TD classed as settled and closed? Or do they lurk there open forever with the lender unable to enforce the debt.

Thanks in advance

Hi jazza374.

Which company is it?

Has your trustee been discharged as well as you?

Hi,
The loan was with Egg. My TD was organised through Invocas.
How would I know if my trustee was discharged? My details are no longer on the AIB website and I was told that everything was finished.
Thanks again

OK.

It seems as though your trustee has been discharged if you're no longer on the register.

We've heard a lot here that RBS aren't paying out for PPI claims in these circumstances. Other banks are. I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be much certainty what the correct position is, nor can I recall Egg's practice in this respect being discussed here before.

Have you made them aware of your trust deed and discharge?

Yes I have and I have spoken to my claim management company (Turn Debt Around/Invocas) about it. To be honest I am not happy with the responses I am getting from TDA, I cannot seem to speak to anybody who really knows what is happening.
Edited to add
Spoke to TDA again this afternoon and got a very helpful lady who went through my claims in much more detail and their current status. Much happier now.

That's good jazza374.

I'm glad that TDA (Turndebtaround) have been able to further inform you about this. They seem very well placed to be able to do that.

Just to say revised and much increased offer received from Egg now that they know the TD is finished.
Thanks for the help.
