I was sent a new income/expenditure form from KPMG in June, which was returned. I received a letter from them today which states that "Sky TV is a luxury item" and wanting me to cancel my subscription. I only pay £34.75 a month. I have no other way to access TV - my flat does not have TV ariel. I would accept being told to downgrade to a basic package, but surely asking me cancel is unfair?

The expenditure sheet did not cover anything like haircuts, birthday/christmas presents. Is it acceptable when in a trust deed to be able to spend small ammounts on such things?

I read somewhere that it was also reasonable to allow a small ammount for leisure/sport/hobbies but again this is not mentioned.

I am going to reply requesting a meeting as I have still not managed to speak to anybody at KPMG, despite several phone calls

FYI they allowed me £ 23 for "TV rental" which they knew fine well was Sky.

Hi.

It's generally accepted that basic TV packages and reasonable costs for haircuts can be budgeted.

I've only had my haircut twice this year - cost £19.50 each time

People need to get their hair cut.

The budget is obviously not going to be generous, but allowances for things almost everyone spends money on sometimes really should be in place.

Hi fcwalker,

standard things that we allow are things like clothing & footwear, meals at work, sports, hobbies and entertainment, dentist, opticians, hairdressing, pets, satellite TV etc. These are all allowances that we find people normally overlook and lump together in their household expenditure. When entering into your Trust Deed, an advisor should have thoroughly went through this.

In addition, we find that when people submit their review forms, sometimes they don't take the time to properly complete them and rush to get them back to us. Perhaps ask KMPG for a new review form, take some time and think about everything (within reason) that you spend your money on. A degree of flexibility should be allowed.

Good luck.
