As a member of this site I thought I would share my experience to let people know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I was in protected trust deed june 2010 and wasdischarged in october 2013. Around the start of the summer thisyear i noticed my credit file looking different and the trust deed is no longer on my file. I have been able to get a capital one credit card with a low credit limit. Two years ago i joined a credit union they knew about my trust deed but still allowed me to save and have even offered me three loans which have all been paid back. I have a christmas savings club with them. I just wanted to let people know that life can move on after a trust deed.

Great post ldc and thanks for sharing. It again shows that there is life after a Trust Deed like you say.

I signed a TD exactly 6 years ago today. I'm looking forward to next month's credit report when, hopefully, the TD will have fallen off. I'm always nervous about any form of credit applications but, since being discharged, I haven't really had any issues. I bought a car on finance at a normal rate. I have a normal rate MBNA credit card with a decent credit limit (which comes in handy if I ever need to hire a car), and have recently switched mobile provider with no issues. Although my Noddle and Clearscore ratings aren't perfect, they are around the average for my area. It certainly seems like a long road when going through a TD but it's one of the best decisions I ever made.

Glad that's over with....
