is it normal for a trust deed company to charge 295 each for couples to do a credit check and look through your file??

I for one haven't heard of this, why are they asking to look at your file? Can't you tell them your creditors?

As mentioned on the other thread where you mentioned this upfront fee, please don't pay it. It's a waste of your money for something any number of quality advice sources will do for you without an upfront fee.
