got one in January at a Glasgow hospital car park. Read the usual sites, some conflicting information as previously stated, but as long as you are not intimidated by the usual threatening letters(which presumably you should know not to be anyway if in a trust deed?)then do nothing. I haven't responded to the letters.
Was also told if they contact you in person to say you are the registered keeper, but were not the driver at the time. You are under no legal obligation to say who was. Tell them if they contact you again you will report them for harassment.
oh, and another thing. It's not a fine, it is a request for payment apparently.Private companies can not impose fines.
Thanks for sharing this information rodney.
I guess for most people it's the fear of the unknown and the fear of possible consequences of not paying the ÔÇ£fineÔÇØ that these companies rely on. I suspect it's probably a small proportion of people who receive these won't pay them but the majority do which is why these companies send out the letters.

Well I ignored it..... got a second letter the other day. It was the same idea basically. Saying if I was not driver I should pass it on to the driver to pay or I should write to them with driver details. It followed the other letter into the bin!
Thanks for the advice
steve
You may get a 3rd more threatening letter from a made up legal department(who happen to use the same typeface letter and are in the same building). Ignore it too.
