Hi Ali,

The Trust Deed should drop off your credit file 6 years after date of signing it, not your discharge. The debts that were included in the Trust Deed should technically drop off on the same date as the default dates shouldn't be any later than the date you signed the Trust Deed. That is the guidance from the ICO. Credit Karma only covers one of your 3 main credit files. You might want to double check your Experian and Equifax accounts to make sure things have dropped off there too.

As to the question on Insurance, a Trust Deed isn't bankruptcy. They are distinct forms of insolvency and not the same. If you have any doubt about the question, you might want to speak to the company directly. Probably better to level with them up front as it might cause issues with your cover further down the line.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me please?

I entered into a protected trust deed in April 2019 and I was discharged in April 2023

I have a credit karma account and all my accounts were showing on this with the defaults and my bankruptcy was also showing but I noticed late last year everything had disappeared

the only accounts now showing on my file are my current accounts and none of the previous accounts.

I thought everything would be on my file for 6 years after my discharge or does it stay on from 6 years when I entered into the trust deed.

Also when I’m applying for insurance do I have to declare that I was bankrupt or does that only apply until I’ve been discharged

thanks for reading
